Eternal Engravings: The Everlasting Gift
When buying a gift for a loved one, more often than not you want it to convey a message. Whether that message is one of love, affection or even thanks, the tradition of gift-giving has always been a means of conveying feelings. Gift giving is ingrained in our society and has been for hundreds of years. From the annual exchanging of gifts at Christmas to a simple thank you bunch of flowers, we are a generous species. Sometimes though, a present itself is not enough. Sometimes we want to say something specific to that special someone, and what better way to reinforce your message than through an engraving.
Engraving is an age old practice which has stood the test of time. It instantly makes your message eternal and so much more meaningful. Typically, most engraved gifts tend to be jewellery. In the example of a ring, you can engrave a message on the inside or outer rim. It can be anything from a simple “I Love You” to the date of your anniversary, the title of your favourite song or even the name of your child. For more space, consider options such as bangles. You could include the lyrics of your wedding song or a longer personal message. Lockets, pendants and yes, even earrings can all be engraved. When considering gifts for him, think watches. A watch can also carry an engraving whilst being a functional accessory! As jewellery is one of the most common Christmas gifts and indeed for any occasion, it really makes a difference to receive an engraved piece, as it is instantly unique.
Of course it’s not just jewellery which can carry beautiful engravings. Photo frames are another popular option. Imagine years from now your grandchildren and great-grandchildren not needing to ask “Who is in that photo?” because the names of their ancestors will be clearly evident. The engraving will stand the test of time and will evoke a sentimentality that a regular frame just couldn’t achieve.
More practical gifts include cigarette cases, cigarette lighters, keepsake boxes, champagne flutes, cutlery and even placemats. These items, used every day, will constantly remind users of the thought and sentiment put into these gifts.
Why not make it personal and create an award for a loved one. A shield or plaque with your recipients name engraved with a depiction beneath, for example, “Mark Smith, Award For The Best Dad In The World!” You can’t go wrong with an engraving as you are literally saying what you want to say! No trusting the florist to get your message right, you are the creator!
People love personal engravings because they instantly increase the sentimental value of the gift. This proves itself as you will find that your loved ones will treasure a personal gift much more, because by engraving it, you have put a little of yourself into the gift. Engravings are an inexpensive addition to any piece of jewellery or gift, so there really is no reason not to! Make someone smile today and tell them what you really feel….forever!
